Privacy policy
In plain words, with no lawyer-speak: here is what I collect when you use this site, why, and how to get rid of it. If anything stays unclear, write to me and I'll answer.

What I collect, and nothing else
When you fill out the contact form, you give me three things: your name, your email and your message. That's it. There is no hidden field, no budget question, no pre-checked box signing you up for anything.
The site also measures traffic and speed anonymously: which pages are visited, from what kind of device, how long a page takes to load. These measurements do not identify you and are not used to follow you from site to site.
CJFG Studio keeps your work-in-progress site in your own browser's storage. That content never leaves your device and I have no access to it. Clear your browser storage and it is gone.
Why I collect it
To answer you. That is the only reason.
I don't send you a newsletter because you wrote to me once. I don't sign you up anywhere. I never sell or share your details with anyone, at any price.
If I ever start a newsletter, you will have to subscribe yourself, on purpose, and you will be able to leave in one click.
Where it goes
Your message reaches me by email through a delivery service (Resend). My destination address appears nowhere in this site's code, on purpose: that is what keeps it from being harvested by spam bots.
The site runs on infrastructure that logs requests, like any hosting does. Those technical logs are kept briefly and serve security and troubleshooting.
There is no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics, and no ad network on this site.
How long I keep it
Your message stays in my inbox as long as our exchange is useful: through the project, then a few years in case you come back and we need to remember what we said.
If you never became a client and we have nothing left to discuss, it gets cleaned out.
You can also ask me to delete it before that, and I will, without asking why.
Your rights, with no form to fill
In Québec, Law 25 gives you the right to know what a business holds about you, to have it corrected, and to have it erased.
Here, you exercise that by writing to me. No special form, no thirty-day delay stretched to its limit: you ask, I answer, and I confirm when it's done.
If a data breach ever touched your information, I would tell you directly, rather than let you find out somewhere else.
Who is responsible
Me. Jean-François Gauthier, ConceptionJFG. There is no legal department to hand you off to: the same person designs the site, receives your messages, and answers your questions about your data.
If anything here seems vague or incomplete, tell me. A privacy policy nobody understands protects nobody.
