Using AI to write your website content (without sounding like a robot)
The blank page is over. AI can help you fill your site in one evening, as long as you treat it like an assistant, not an autopilot.
The worst enemy of a site that never moves forward is the blank page. “What do I write?” blocks more projects than any technical problem. Good news: AI is great at unblocking you. Bad news: used poorly, it produces bland text everyone recognizes from across the room. Here’s how to use it to go fast AND still sound like yourself.
AI is an assistant, not your voice
Think of AI as a brilliant intern who doesn’t know your business. It can structure your ideas, give you a first draft, spit out ten headlines in ten seconds. But you’re the boss: it’s your experience, your examples, your way of talking that make the text believable. The goal isn’t to copy-paste what it produces, but to start there and make it true.
Give it material, not just a command
“Write me a homepage for a plumber” gives a generic result. Instead, feed the AI: how long you’ve been in business, what sets you apart, a typical client story, your three most requested services, the tone you want. The more real you give, the more what comes out sounds like you. The secret is the raw material YOU provide.
- Describe your business in a few sentences, in your words.
- Say who you’re talking to: “homeowners in Sherbrooke.”
- Give the tone you want: warm, direct, serious, funny.
- Add real details: years of experience, examples, guarantees.
Make it work in small pieces
Don’t ask for “my whole site” at once. Tackle one section at a time: the homepage headline, a service description, your short bio, an FAQ answer. Section by section, you keep control and quickly spot when the tone drifts. That’s also how CJFG Studio works: you fill blocks, one at a time, and AI can help you write each of them.
Reread, cut, personalize
AI often overdoes it: hollow sentences, “innovative solutions,” “attuned to your needs” that nobody believes. Take out the red pen: cut the filler, replace the vague with the concrete, add a sentence only YOU could write. Read it out loud. If it doesn’t sound like you talking to a client, rework it. This step makes all the difference.
AI removes the blank page, not the work of telling the truth. It writes fast; you make it human.
Check the facts, always
AI can invent with confidence: a price, a certification, a statistic. On your site, every claim binds you. Reread every number, every promise, every detail as if a client will hold you to it, because they will. What’s on your page is your word, not a machine’s.
Used well, AI turns an evening of writer’s block into a filled, presentable site. Start with CJFG Studio, write your blocks with AI’s help, and if you want us to polish it all so it rings true and converts, write me. The machine drafts, but it still takes a person who knows how to sell.
