Restaurant La Citronnelle

An Ahuntsic institution, finally as warm online as it is at the table.

The brief

For more than 27 years, La Citronnelle has served refined Vietnamese cuisine on rue Fleury Est in Montréal. Bring-your-own-wine, packed weekends, a “Best Restaurant — Sault-au-Récollet 2015” award: the reputation was long established. Online, though, nothing reflected that warmth.

The brief: give the restaurant a web presence worthy of its phở. A complete, easy-to-update menu system — table d’hôte, express lunch, à la carte — hours you can’t miss, an obvious path to a reservation, and clear allergen information. French first, English close behind.

Our approach

We built the visual identity around lemongrass itself: a fresh, luminous green, warm neutrals, and generous typography that echoes the house’s welcome. No stock photos — the menu is the star.

The menu system was designed as structured content, not a PDF: every dish is indexed by Google, readable on mobile and annotated for allergens. Opening hours and the phone number are visible on every page, with one-tap calling on mobile.

On the SEO side, we aligned the site with the restaurant’s Google Business profile and targeted local searches — “Vietnamese restaurant Ahuntsic”, “bring your own wine Fleury” — in both French and English.

The result

The site loads in a blink, even on a phone pulled from a coat pocket in January. Guests find the lunch menu before they’ve laced their boots. And the dining room stays full.

A neighbourhood institution deserves better than a PDF menu — it deserves a website that makes you hungry.
